Gingrey calls on Pelosi and Congressional Democrats to lift their ban on offshore drilling

Washington, July 14, 2008 - U.S. Congressman Phil Gingrey called on Speaker Pelosi, Senate Leader Harry Reid, and Congressional Democrats to lift the ban on offshore drilling. With the executive ban lifted, the only impediment to offshore drilling is the ban imposed by Congress.
“From the gas pump to the checkout counter, the American people are hurting. They see prices continue to rise and a Congress that is doing nothing about it. I do not understand why Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid continue to stand in the way of increasing our domestic supply of fuel,” Gingrey said. “The American people are sick and tired of energy excuses; they are ready for energy solutions.”
