Congressman Gingrey Signs Pledge to Repeal "Death Tax"
4/27/2010
Congressman Phil Gingrey today signed the American Family Business Institute pledge to work towards permanently repealing the Estate Tax, also known as the Death Tax. The Death tax is economically destructive, as it kills jobs and places an immense burden on family businesses and farmers across the country. The tax is set to be revived in 2011, and by permanently repealing it, nearly $119 billion dollars would be added back to the GDP and $70 billion to workers’ income. These increases would help to create more jobs and restore capital stock in the economy. Congressman Gingrey will continue to fight against the implementation of the Estate Tax on behalf of all Americans.
“I, Phil Gingrey, candidate for United States Congress hereby pledge to the American people that I will support the permanent repeal of the Federal Estate and Gift Taxes.”
